Prospero’s Island is a game adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’. The project explores new ways for young audiences to discover and engage with Shakespeare`. The game immerses the audience in Shakespeare’s poetry and themes, challenging them to inhabit his text in the creatively powerful medium of gaming.
Alex Mayhew was invited by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The Royal Shakespeare Company. Working closely with the amazing Tom Piper, the pioneering and multi-award winning Associate Designer at the RSC, I was tasked with the with the job of creating a series of visualisations, setting the visual tone of the project and to explore new interactive possibilities and game scenarios.
